Facts everyone needs to know before taking the Uniform Bar Exam (UBE).

Below are frequently asked questions regarding the Uniform Bar Exam and admission to practice. If you have additional questions not listed below, the National Conference of Board Examiners has additional helpful information for prospective bar exam participants.

  • Winter: February 25–26, 2025

    Summer: July 29-30, 2025

  • In Indiana, individuals taking the UBE must score a minimum of 264 to be admitted to the Bar.

  • All individuals planning to take the UBE must complete an application and register for the jurisdiction they will be taking the exam. Learn more about registration here: UBE Registration.

  • If you are unsure if your state has adopted the UBE, view the full list here.

  • If you have already passed the UBE, but are moving jurisdictions, applicants may transfer scores from their previous UBE submission to apply for admission in another jurisdiction that has adopted the UBE.
